The Ministry of Finance has released K3.2 million towards the settlement of former Chipolopolo Coach Dario Bonneti’s compensation whose 2-year contract was terminated by FAZ on 12th October, 2011.
The Italia coach had reported the Football Association of Zambia to FIFA which ordered that he be paid his compensation claims amounting to US$348,000.

In a ministerial statement to Parliament today, Youth and Sport Minister Vincent Mwale said the money to pay the Italian coach was released yesterday and that the payment is being processed.
Mwale told Parliament that in order to prevent the country from suffering FIFA sanctions which would have entailed Zambia not participating in international football competitions, his ministry requested for special funding from the treasury to settle Bonneti’s dues.
