The Zambia Consumers Association (ZACA) says the disruption in the supply of fuel in certain parts of the country is of great concern to the Zambian people.
ZACA Executive Secretary Samuel Simutunda says government should tell the nation the truth what exactly has led to the shortage of fuel in some parts of the country.
Mr. Simutunda states that if the statement coming from the government that the country has enough fuel stocks both at the Ndola fuel terminal and Lusaka main depot is factual, the situation would have normalized by now and not worsening.
He says the shortage of fuel at some filling stations is inconveniencing the consumers and has a negative effect on the running of their daily activities.
Mr Simutunda since urged government to find a lasting solution to the fuel shortage in the shortest possible time.
Meanwhile the fuel shortage in Lusaka has continued with most filling stations having no fuel.
Government has however assured the nation that the situation will soon normalize as the shortage is due to the logistical challenges facing oil marketing companies.
