Lungu appoints Mvunga Finance Deputy Minister

Republican President Edgar Lungu has appointed and sworn-in chartered accountant Christopher Mvunga as Deputy Minister of Finance.

The deputy Ministerial position at the ministry has been vacant for nearly a year.

And speaking to journalists shortly after the swearing in ceremony at State House this morning, Mr. Mvunga says Zambia’s economy is performing in tandem with world’s economy.

Mr. Mvunga is hopeful that Zambia will do its level best in ensuring that the country’s economy grows rapidly.

He says once he has settled in office, he will try his level best to see how the country can move forward in terms of stabilizing the economy.

Mr. Mvunga has worked for Standard Chartered Bank in South Africa as Regional Head for Africa Network Management for eight years.
