Cabinet renames Revenue ppeals Tribunal

Cabinet has approved a bill to rename the Revenue Appeals Tribunal as the Tax Appeals Tribunal and the matter will be taken to Parliament for enactment.

And Cabinet has deferred the approval of the new guidelines on the sale of livestock breeding to farmers to allow for extensive consultations with relevant ministries.

Briefing journalists after a Cabinet meeting at State House tKAMBWILI-OFFICEhis morning, Chief Government Spokesperson Chishimba Kambwili says the purpose of changing the Revenue Appeals Tribunal is to ensure that the name accurately describes the functions of the Tribunal and also to enhance its operation efficiency.

Mr. Kambwili has also disclosed that Ministers will be having press conferences every month to tell the nation the progress of various government projects and how they are implemented.

He says there is a lot of propaganda by the opposition opposing everything government is doing and thus the need to update the nation on the progress being made by government.

Mr Kambwili says the Labour Minister will be updating the nation as to how many jobs the PF government has created so far since it took over office in 2011.
