Zambians for Empowerment and Development (ZED) President Fredrick Mutesa has observed that decisions President Edgar Lungu has made so far are a clear demonstration that he is on the right path.

Dr Mutesa cites the appointment of the first female republican Vice President Inonge Wina and recognition of Henry Kanyanta Sosala as Paramount Chief Chitimukulu as some of such decisions.

He says President Lungu’s intelligent engagement with the media is also one other demonstration that attests to the fact that he has started well.

Dr. Mutesa says his party has also taken note of the transparency that the country’s new president has shown by making public his routine medical check-up; something he notes the people of Zambia were not privy to during late President Michael Sata’s tenure.

In an interview with Qfm News Dr. Mutesa says President Lungu’s decision to use local health institutions such as Maina Soko Military Hospital and Lusaka Trust Hospital for medical check-up also reminds the country of first republican president Kenneth Kaunda who during his presidency did his medical check-ups at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH).

He says this move to use local health institutions is appropriate as it gives health personnel confidence that they have a place in the development of the nation.

Dr. Mutesa states that for the fact that President Lungu has started on the right path, ZED will continue to commend him where he has done well at the same time render checks and balances.

He says his party would like to see President Lungu continue on the same path as it believes that Zambia is bound to become a better place.
