LAZ calls for inclusive governance

The Law Association of Zambia says there is need for government to ensure that all Zambians feel they are participating in the governance of the country.

In a post election statement, LAZ President George Chisanga says this is in view ofLAZ Chisanga the apparent tribal and regional voting patterns that appear to be rooted in apparent feelings of disenfranchisement.

Mr Chisanga has also expressed concern with the apparent voter apathy that characterized the 20th January presidential election.

He says LAZ is of the view that more needs to be done by the Electoral Commission of Zambia to sensitise voters on the importance of exercising their right to vote as an important part of the governance of the country.

Mr Chisanga has however applauded the Electoral Commission of Zambia for the exemplary manner in which it conducted the election.

He states that overall, LAZ is of the view that the 20th January,2015 presidential election was generally conducted in a free and fair manner.
