The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has been called upon to start in earnest the registration of new voters ahead of the 2016 general election.

Evangelical Youth Alliance International (EYAI) is urging the ECZ to start early the registration of new voters in order that more young people can participate in the 2016 general election.

Executive Director Moses Lungu has told Qfm News in an interview that his organization is of the view that bringing on board young people to participate in the country’s electoral process will also help in ridding the voting pattern witnessed in the just ended presidential election.

Reverend Lungu says to this effect, the EYAI is calling for the commencement of the issuance of National Registration Cards to young people that have turned 18 years in readiness for them participate in next year’s general election.
