ZCID calls on PF to initiate dialogue with opposition

The Zambia Center for Inter-party Dialogue (ZCID) has called on the ruling Patriotic Front to initiate dialogue with the opposition political parties in order to defuse the tension that characterized the campaigns.

ZCID Executive Director Horrance Chilando has told QFM News in a telephone interview that now that the presidential election is over, there is need for political parties to come together and bury their differences.

Mr. Chilando says there is also need for all political parties to recommit themselves to the interparty platform where they will all be willing to dialogue on issues affecting the nation.

He says political parties should come together and support each other for the common good of the nation.

Mr. Chilando has also called on President Edgar Lungu’s administration to ensure that they support strengthening of institutions that deals with interparty issues to enable them effectively help in resolving intraparty wrangles.
