FFTUZ commends Lungu for appointing Wina as Veep

The Federation of Free Trade Unions of Zambia (FFTUZ) has joined other stakeholders and individuals in extending their profound gratitude to President Edgar Lungu for appointing Inonge Wina as Zambia’s first female Republican Vice President.

FFTUZ National Women’s Chairperson Charity Tembo has told QFM News in a statement that the union is praying that Ms Wina will be equal to the task and prove to the men folk that women can perform even better than men.

Mrs Tembo hopes that the appointment of women in higher positions will not start and end with Ms Wina but will be extended to many more other positions.

She says there is need for women not only to celebrate when a woman is appointed to a higher position, but that those appointed should also deliver to the satisfaction of the people.

Mrs Tembo says the union will give Ms Wina the help she needs during the course of her duties.
