ActionAid Zambia Director Pamela Chisanga has commended president Edgar Lungu for urging investors in Zambia to ensure that Zambians have a affair share of the profits.
Ms. Chisanga says Mr. Lungu’s message to the investors is encouraging and impressive because many Zambians have been abused by getting very little income from investors especially in mining companies.
Ms. Chisanga says actionaid hopes that President Lungu will not just speak but act swiftly.
She says that the issue of tax is another point which Mr. Lungu has hit the nail on its head because Zambia will now be able to generate more income that will be used for other needy sectors once investors are made to pay the required taxes.
Ms .Chisanga has stressed the need for government to stand firm and ensure all loop holes on those companies avoiding to pay tax is sealed.
