ZCID predicts peaceful by-election

The Zambia Center for Inter Party Dialogue (ZCID) has predicted that the forthcoming presidential by-election will be peaceful following the peaceful filing in of nominations by political parties so far.

ZCID Executive Director Horrance Chilando is of the view that the peaceful filing in of nominations by some political parties so far indicates that the pending presidential by-election will be peaceful.

Mr. Chilando has told QFM News that his organization is confident that the election will not be marred with violence stating that politicians are showing willingness to promote peace and unity in the country.

He says political parties must be commended for conducting themselves in a patriotic manner during the filing in of nominations saying this is a good indicator of good things to come in the political arena.

He adds that violence should not be condoned because of its negative impact in any given nation.

Mr. Chilando says politicians are expected to continue with this kind of behavior by remaining peaceful in their conducts.
