Did LL Cool J Just Squash One Of The Biggest Beefs In Rap History?

Lil rwoLL Cool J and Canibus had what is commonly considered one of the biggest beefs in rap with a feud that included classic dis tracks “2nd Round K.O.” and “The Ripper Strikes Back.”

But, on Friday (December 19), the two MCs revisited and squashed their 17-year-old beef by performing the cut that started it all between them, “4, 3, 2, 1.”

“I’ve had a lot of beefs in my life,” LL said when he introduced ‘Bis at the Christmas in Brooklyn event, which took place at Barclays Center. “Sometimes we gotta be bigger than that. Sometimes, you gotta take it to the next level. Sometimes you gotta flip the script.”

And just like that, two foes who seemed like they’d never get on the same page, shared the stage and hugged during verses that were first crafted as disses.

Even before the show, LL and Canibus were embracing one another, smiling and posing for pictures. See? Time really does heal all wounds.

And if you need a little help understanding the backstory of this beef, here’s an old MTV interview with Canibus where he breaks it down.

Yup, that’s why Canibus wasn’t included in the official music video, which you can watch below.

Now, will LL squash all his beefs? We don’t know for sure, but it is cool to get some closure on this one.
