Zambia will end 2014 inside the top 50 on the FIFA rankings after landing at number 46 in December.

Honour Janza’s side has jumped 16 places from number 62 to continue their rise up the FIFA rankings for a second consecutive month.

It is also the second successive time that Zambia has jumped 16 places on the rankings after moving from 78 in October to 62nd last month after spending much of 2014 in free-fall.

Zambia’s impressive rise has also seen them enter the CAF top ten from 15th in November to number 10 displacing Mali who drop to number 11 in Africa and are 50th in the World.

Meanwhile, Zambia are now just six places behind Cape Verde whom they faced in the 2015 Africa Cup qualifiers in Group F and will play again at the finals in Equatorial Guinea next month after they were drawn together in Group B.
