Lubinda remembers how Sata shed tears on being asked why he was fired

Kabwata Member of Parliament Given Lubinda says he will always remember the day late President Michael Sata shed tears when he asked him why he had fired him as Foreign Affairs Minister.

Mr Lubinda says he also could not hold back tears upon seeing the President shed tears after he had asked him why he had been fired.

Mr Lubinda says President Sata told him that he had been made to fire him, but that he encouraged him to look to future.

He says President Sata told him several times at the time he was being fought within the PF that the measure of a politician is by the height by which they rise after they have fallen.

The Kabwata Parliamentarian says President Sata was a source of inspiration for him and that he will continue to draw inspiration from his illustrious political career.

Mr Lubinda says he got close to President Sata in 2008 when he appointed him his campaign manager for the presidential election and together they traversed the country to campaign.

He adds that President Sata had become a personal friend and shared jokes with him which his son would not share with his father.

And Mr Lubinda has appealed to Zambians to honor the life of President Sata by mourning him with dignity.

He says Zambians should be prayerful during this mourning period and pray for the family of the late President.

And Chief and Traditional Affairs Nkandu Luo says President Sata instilled in her a sense of sharing with the less privileged.

Professor Luo says President Sata had a very strong passion of being a servant of the people.
She adds that people who did not know President Sata had a different perception about him.
