Sata deserves a befitting send off – The Church

The Church Mother bodies in the country namely the Council of Church of Zambia, the Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia and the Zambia Episcopal Conference have called on the Zambian people to remain calm, peaceful and united during the mourning period for President Michael Sata who died in London on Tuesday.

In a joint message of condolences, the three church mother bodies say President Sata deserves a befitting and dignified send off.

They have urged all Zambians to unite and pray for the peaceful transition in both government and the rest of the country.

The church mother bodies have further encouraged Zambia to during this very sad moment turn to God and pray for the comfort and encouragement from God.

The church says it has received the news of the passing of President Sata with deepest sorrow and heartfelt sadness.
