Use powers vested in you to release draft constitution – ZCSD pleas to Lungu

The Zambia Council for Social Development (ZCSD) has appealed to Acting President Edgar Lungu to take advantage of the powers vested in him to release the final draft constitution.

ZCSD Executive Secretary, Lewis Mwape has told QFM News in an interview that Mr. Lungu promised to release the final document during Independence week, and that it is an added advantage for him to do so now that he is acting president.

Mr. Mwape says Mr. Lungu is an honorable person and that he is hopeful that he will make the document available to the people before Friday.

Mr. Mwape states that all eyes are on Mr. Lungu to see if he will honor the promise he made to stakeholders last week on the release of the document this week.

He adds that it will be pointless to celebrate 50 years of Golden Jubilee without government releasing the final draft constitution.

And Mr. Mwape commended government for coming out to tell the nation that President Michael Sata has been flown out of the country for medical checkup.
