Napsa target revenge over Zesco

Napsa Stars face Zesco United in the 2014 Barclays Cup semifinal vowing not to lose to their opponents for a third time this season.

Zesco have picked up back-to-back league wins over Napsa this season heading into the two sides Barclays Cup semifinal meeting at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe on Saturday.

The clash will see the record three-time winners Zesco take on the 2012 champions Napsa.

Zesco and Napsa are also the only former winners still in the hunt for honours after Power Dynamos were eliminated in the quarterfinals by Nkana who face Konkola Blades in the late kickoff of this semifinal doubleheader.

“This a big game it is a semifinal and semifinals don’t come around that often,” Napsa coach Hector Chilombo said.

“We are playing a big team like Zesco who have beaten us twice in the league this season. This time around we also want to upset tables.”

Meanwhile, Napsa have surprisingly travelled to Kitwe without their flamboyant DR Congo born first choice goalkeeper Scott Ngokane.

“He didn’t make the team the other goalkeepers are doing fine but he might play a part before the end of the season,” Chilombo said.

Philip Banda is expected to play in goals for a second successive Barclays Cup game after keeping a clean sheet in Napsa’s 1-0 quarterfinal derby win over Lusaka Dynamos on September 13.
